With an existing network of around 190 stores, Senco Gold and Diamonds is preparing to expand further by adding approximately 20 outlets in 2026-27.
Of the planned additions, around 12 to 13 stores will be opened through the franchise model, while six to seven outlets will be company owned, according to Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer Suvankar Sen.
The expansion will be accompanied by a continued focus on strengthening the brand's presence in eastern India. Senco Gold and Diamonds is targeting revenue growth of over 25 per cent in the current financial year, with a goal of reaching Rs 10,500 to Rs 11,000 crore.
"This expansion is expected to add to the company's revenue, which we expect to grow by over 25%, making it around Rs 10,500-11,000 crore this financial year. In FY26, the company clocked Rs 8,430 crore revenue," Sen added.
The company is also exploring a franchise led approach to support its expansion, while selectively opening company owned stores in tier II and III cities.
According to Sen, a greater reliance on the franchise model is expected to help optimise capital deployment, with the company’s capital expenditure projected at around Rs 200 to Rs 250 crore in FY27.
"The capex is for the company's working capital, inventory and company-owned stores. We are raising it through internal accruals and debt," he added.
The Kolkata headquartered jewellery retailer is prioritising a stronger presence in eastern India as part of its expansion strategy, while also looking to build its footprint across northern, western and southern markets.
"As we are from the eastern region and have built a legacy through generations, building on consumer trust, we will continue to focus on the eastern region of the country. Around 60-70% of our revenue comes from the east.”
"Next is the north, from where we get around 10% of the revenue, and the rest is from the west and the south together. Moreover, traditionally the south and the west have many players, presenting a huge opportunity in the east and the north markets," Sen stated.
On the international front, Senco Gold currently operates two stores in Dubai and is looking to further expand its presence in the region. However, the company’s expansion plans have been put on hold for the time being due to the ongoing crisis in West Asia, Sen said.
