The company posted a net profit of Rs 574 crore, with Sen attributing part of the performance to the sharp increase in gold prices.

Senco Gold Ltd is charting an ambitious growth roadmap, with the Kolkata based jewellery retailer targeting a turnover of Rs 10,000 crore in FY27, a growth of around 25 percent over the previous financial year. The company has also set its sights on doubling turnover to Rs 20,000 crore over the next five years, driven by expansion in franchised stores, growing demand for lightweight jewellery and digital initiatives.

Speaking at the company’s annual general meeting, MD and CEO Suvankar Sen said Senco Gold reported a turnover of Rs 8,430 crore in the last financial year. The company posted a net profit of Rs 574 crore, with Sen attributing part of the performance to the sharp increase in gold prices.

“Our total revenue increased by 33 percent year-on-year in FY26. We are aiming for 25 percent revenue growth in this fiscal with over Rs 10,000 crore turnover. We are targeting about 4.5 percent net profit out of this turnover, or Rs 450 crore, in this fiscal. Our target is to reach Rs 20,000 crore revenue five years later,” Sen said.

Changing gold prices have reshaped consumer purchasing behaviour, prompting more customers to exchange old jewellery for new purchases. According to Sen, old gold exchanges emerged as a significant contributor to Senco Gold’s sales during FY26.

“Old gold exchange accounted for about 44 percent of our total sales in FY26,” he said.

Senco Gold currently has a retail network of 201 stores, including 102 company owned outlets and 85 franchise operated stores, along with other formats. Company owned stores accounted for around 60 percent of the company’s revenue in the last financial year, while franchise outlets contributed 33 percent. The balance came from exports, e commerce and corporate sales.

As part of its expansion plans, the jewellery retailer is looking to add 25 more franchise stores. By 2031, Senco Gold aims to build a network of around 300 stores across its company owned and franchise formats.

“Our focus is on franchise stores to control inventories. We are planning to open 25 more franchise stores. We plan to have about 300 stores, both company-owned and franchise, by 2031,” Sen said.

To broaden its appeal among younger consumers, particularly those in smaller cities, the retailer is strengthening its digital marketing efforts while expanding its focus on lower carat gold jewellery.

“Lower-carat gold collections like 9-carat and 14-carat have allowed us to engage young customers in tier 2 and tier 3 cities,” Sen said.
