Fabbcut is tailoring company cum institute with salem as its base. It was started to make tailors life smooth at and at the same time balancing the needs and demands of the customers too. The journey started as a normal tailoring institute in the year 2001. We saw tailors struggling to meet the customer requirements and make them satisfied. This was because the tailors failed to grasp the detailed measurements and make patterns accordingly. So we came up with a new method. That is taking measurements from the customer’s body and then applying formulas to the same and drawing drafts which gave accurate results. This was our first success.

Then we saw people who had real interest in tailoring but could not pursue it due to lack of time and money to study tailoring. So to spread the tailoring knowledge that we possess, we introduced the Tailoring Training DVD which is easily available at affordable cost. Our first DVD launch was in the year 2010. The DVDs are available in multi languages. Fashion Dot’s expansion did not stop just there. In the year 2013 we introduced the Pattern making software. This software made the life of tailors comfortable. This software gets measurement from the customer, feeds into the system and patterns are generated accordingly on sheets. Doesn’t it sound simple?? Yes, these patterns are accurate and save a greater amount of time.

Later we saw that though the pattern designing part was made simple by the pattern making software, the cutting of fabric was complicated and that consumed more time. So we launched the Laser cutting machine in 2016. Once the pattern is ready, the fabric can be cut along the pattern lines using this cutting machine. Be it a single fabric or a bundle, the laser cutting machine does its role effectively.

Every field has been computerized. Why not the tailoring industry? In 2018, we thought of taking the tailoring industry one step ahead and introduced the Management Software. This software allows you to manage every order that comes in your company to managing employees and many more. All is now made available in simple software.

There are over 900+ software product users in India. 1000+ users found our Training DVD to be useful. The employees are the reason behind success. As the cities are developing, so is the traffic. It has become quite impossible to travel places quickly. This is one the reason why tailoring institutes saw a downfall. People hesitate to travel far to learn. And this became the main reason why learning through DVDs took a boom. Training DVD is available in various regional languages such as Tamil, English, Telugu, Hindi, Kannada and Malayalam. The DVD content is simple and the concepts are explained in such a way that even a person from non-tailoring background can understand.

The DVD has helped many ladies to open their own Home stitching start-ups. The DVD is available for Ladies Blouse and Ladies Chudidar separately. For Blouse stitching, two separate volumes are available each kit containing DVD and the Training Notes. Similarly, two separate volumes are available for Ladies Chudidar stitching which contains DVD and Training Notes.

Pattern Making Software

Design Manual is out of market trend reason being that it can’t be updated with latest patterns and wear and tear of the booklet. The software gets measurement from the customer, draws the selected pattern and gives a printed paper with the pattern and measurements as an output. This paper has lines marked for both cutting and stitching.

Since the software stores the measurements of customer, the accuracy of designs is high giving the fabric a great finish. Unlike design manuals, the pattern making software can be updated whenever a new design is trending in the market. The software minimizes manual intervention and allows customization to a greater extent.

Laser Cutting Machine

Can you imagine a tailor shop without a cutting master? Yes it is absolutely possible when you have the Laser cutting machine at your place. You don’t need a technician to operate the machine. Based on the measurements input given, the fabric is cut efficiently with accuracy. Any type of fabric can be cut using the Laser Cutting machine. Traditional cutting will consume time and involves lots of concentrate to create trendy and stylish designs. Laser cutting makes this entire process simple.

This will be followed by Single head to multiple Head embroidery machines. Later it will be followed by Semi-automatic Sewing machines. Sooner it can be expected that all tailoring related machines and software’s will be sold by Fashion Dot. “All tailoring needs at one stop”.

Expansion

It has been 15+ years since started but we could meet only 1500+ clients which is actually too less. Though the demands are high, we are unable to meet and sell products to customers from every corner of the country. Many women entrepreneurs are running successful Garment industries. Though they have demands they don’t wish to travel down to our place every time. Our customers expect local guidance for machines and software’s which is quite difficult. And this is the reason why sales conversion is not as high as we expect.
