Aiming at exploring the intrinsic potential of every kid and inculcating in him/her the joy of learning, believing in his/her uniqueness, Eurokids- the pre-school specialist, has planned to open more pre-schools across the globe. In a chat with Sakshi Arora, Amit Singh, SBU-Head, Eurokids, brought to light how franchisees can beneficially educate children by associating with them.

What is EuroKids about? How is the 'learn with fun' approach helping you to grow?
EuroKids started its first pre-school in 2001 and has been in the field of education for more than a decade now. And so, the brand has know-how about what and how a child learns. EuroKids does constant research and therefore, the best is ensured by us, be it in terms of curriculum or teaching various learning practices.

We at EuroKids understand the importance of a child’s first five years – the period for their linguistic, social, emotional, conceptual growth and motor competence. Children here are provided with an enriched atmosphere with a colossal range of fun activities, which ultimately give them a positive experience.

Share the USP of your brand.
We offer structured curriculum keeping a child-centric approach to early education. The colourful ambience at the Pre-school has been equipped with non-toxic toys and children are trained by qualified early child care educators.

When did you decide to go for the franchise path to grow your brand?
We have chosen franchising as the fundamental manner to conduct the business and deem the same as an intrinsic requirement for the business to grow. Since, technical knowledge transfer becomes easy with it and the risk and gestation period associated with a business reduces with franchisor-laid structured procedures and policies.

What can the prospective franchisees hope for themselves in this business?
The Pre-school industry has a vast potential to offer. However, the same is untapped so far as the penetration in various areas is low. CRISIL’s latest research concluded says that the industry is likely to report a 4-Year CAGR of 20 per cent, reaching nearly Rs 105- 115 billion by 2014-15.

What are the pre-requisites for a franchisee to become the brand's partner?
We have been seeking committed franchise partners who could take our aim of making learning a fun experience for kids a step forward. They must hold a college degree and reasonable financial resources. Alongside, they should have a keen interest in education services and in working with young kids.

What kind of training and support do you offer to your franchisees?
A multi-level training program is followed and ongoing training is given to everyone associated with the pre-school. Franchisees are given training on systems and procedures of EuroKids, Business Orientation, Operation and general management skills. To the counselors of franchisees, training on communication skills and enquiry handling is provided.

We conduct value added workshops encompassing different themes linked to early childhood education and parenting. In addition, brand building is done by us using different forms of advertising.

Where in the nation you have your foothold and where are you planning to expand via franchise route?
As many as 884 Pre-Schools are today operated by EuroKids in around 311 towns and cities. We have plans to add another 400 EuroKids centers in the upcoming two years so as to spread our concept in each and every area of the country. We have concrete plans to take our business to SAARC and Middle Eastern countries besides Nepal and Bangladesh, where we are already running our Pre-Schools.
