Vietnamese electric vehicle manufacturer VinFast has signed a strategic partnership with Plugsurfing to expand its footprint in Europe. Under this collaboration, VinFast customers will gain access to more than 1 million public charging points across 24 countries, all integrated seamlessly through the VinFast app. The partnership marks a major milestone in VinFast’s European growth strategy.
With over a decade of expertise, Plugsurfing has built one of Europe’s largest EV charging networks, connecting over 2 million users. In VinFast’s key markets of Germany, France, and the Netherlands alone, the network includes more than 550,000 charging points. As part of the deal, VF 6 and VF 8 owners will receive new charging cards free of charge, with their charging history and account balances remaining intact.
Le Ngoc Chi, CEO of VinFast Europe, said: “Our customer-centric philosophy is at the core of our operations. By partnering with Plugsurfing, we are not only expanding our charging network but also delivering greater convenience and an improved experience, accelerating EV adoption in Europe.” Plugsurfing COO Sofia Diakhate added: “This collaboration will help shape a sustainable and accessible EV charging future for Europe while supporting VinFast’s expansion.”
Currently, VinFast sells two smart EV models in Europe – the VF 6 (B-segment) and VF 8 (D-segment) – while more models are under development. The company is also strengthening its aftersales service network through partnerships with ATU (Germany), Norauto (France), LKQ (the Netherlands), and Fixico, ensuring high-quality repair and maintenance services across the region.
Beyond Europe, VinFast is rapidly expanding into global markets such as Indonesia, the Philippines, India, the Middle East, and North America. On August 4, 2025, the company inaugurated its first overseas EV assembly plant at the SIPCOT Industrial Park in Thoothukudi, Tamil Nadu, India. Spread over 400 acres, the facility has an initial capacity of 50,000 units annually, scalable up to 150,000 units, and will serve as a key export hub for South Asia, the Middle East, and Africa.
