Swiggy’s rapid delivery arm, Bolt, has crossed a major milestone, now operating in over 500 cities across India. The announcement marks a significant moment in the country's fast-growing quick commerce space, coinciding with rival Zomato's decision to shut down its instant food delivery service, Quick, just four months after launch.
Launched in October 2024, Swiggy Bolt offers a curated menu of ready-to-eat meals from partner restaurants within a 2-kilometer radius, aiming for delivery within just 10 minutes. The service has quickly gained traction, now accounting for 10% of all food orders on Swiggy’s platform.
Swiggy says the Bolt initiative has partnered with over 45,000 restaurants nationwide, including top quick-service brands such as KFC, McDonald’s, Burger King, Subway, Faasos, and Curefoods. The rapid growth comes as users increasingly prioritize speed and convenience in their ordering experience.
Rohit Kapoor, CEO of Swiggy’s Food Marketplace, described the momentum as “incredible,” highlighting the scale Bolt has achieved in just a few months.
Beyond expanding its geographic footprint, Bolt is also proving valuable for customer engagement. According to Swiggy, the service has improved monthly retention rates by 4-6% compared to the platform average for new users, signaling stronger customer loyalty and acquisition.
