Omega Seiki Mobility (OSM) has inaugurated its first international assembly plant in Dubai’s Jebel Ali Free Zone (Jafza), with an investment of USD 25 million (AED 92 million) planned over the next five years. The move is part of the company’s global expansion strategy, targeting the growing demand for low-emission transportation in the Middle East and Africa.
Spread across 42,000 sq. ft., the new facility will assemble electric two-wheelers and three-wheelers, while also serving as a storage and distribution hub for automotive parts and spares. Operations are expected to commence by the end of 2025.
Strategically located in Jafza, the plant will boost exports to Middle Eastern and African markets. In its initial phase, the project is expected to create over 100 jobs and further strengthen trade ties between India and the UAE in the clean technology sector.
Abdulla Al Hashmi, COO of Parks & Zones at DP World GCC, highlighted that Jafza continues to attract manufacturers seeking access to high-growth markets. “The MENA EV market is projected to reach USD 14.5 billion by 2029, supported by favorable government policies, rising consumer demand, and expanding charging infrastructure,” he noted.
OSM Founder and Chairman Uday Narang said the launch aligns with the company’s vision of expanding clean mobility solutions internationally. “Jafza offers strategic access to over 2 billion consumers and a business environment conducive to scalability and sustainability. From Dubai, we aim to deliver accessible and commercially viable mobility solutions across the Middle East and Africa,” he stated.
In addition to EVs, OSM plans to introduce compressed natural gas (CNG)-powered models in select African markets as a transitional clean fuel option where EV infrastructure is still developing.
The company’s product range includes the OSM Rage+ (a three-wheeler cargo vehicle) and the OSM Stream (a three-wheeler passenger vehicle), both offering a range of up to 270 km, fast charging and battery swapping capabilities, and IoT integration for real-time tracking and fleet management.
With over 160 dealerships in India and more than 20,000 vehicles sold domestically, OSM’s models are certified by the International Centre for Automotive Technology (ICAT) and the Automotive Research Association of India (ARAI). Through the Jafza facility, the company aims to position Dubai as a regional hub to scale operations and promote sustainable mobility in emerging markets.
