In a move that blends spiritual sanctity with modern convenience, McDonald’s India has launched a pure vegetarian outlet in Katra, Jammu and Kashmir, catering to pilgrims and travelers en route to the holy shrine of Shri Vaishno Devi. As per a recent social media post by the brand, the new outlet is now open at the Shri Vaishnodevi Food Court, located right opposite the Katra Railway Station. The store offers a full vegetarian McDonald’s experience, tailored specifically to suit the sentiments and dietary preferences of the region.

The outlet features self-ordering kiosks, table service, and all the comfort and consistency of McDonald’s signature offerings  reimagined in a 100% vegetarian menu. "Whether you're beginning a spiritual journey or pausing for a well-deserved break, this outlet is designed to make your experience effortless," the brand shared in its announcement.

With this opening, McDonald’s continues its strategy of local customization while maintaining global standards, aiming to serve customers with both familiarity and cultural relevance.
