Malabar Gold & Diamonds, one of the world’s top jewellery retailers, has inaugurated its largest integrated jewellery manufacturing unit in Hyderabad, further cementing its status as a global leader in jewellery production. The new facility, located in General Park, Maheshwaram, spans an expansive 3.45 lakh square feet and marks a major milestone in the group’s global growth strategy.
This state-of-the-art facility consolidates all key operations — from design and refining to manufacturing, quality assurance, and supply chain management — under a single roof. With a production capacity of 4.7 tonnes of gold jewellery and 1.8 lakh carats of diamond jewellery annually, the unit is poised to significantly boost the company’s ability to meet growing international demand.
The facility was inaugurated by Telangana Chief Minister Sri Revanth Reddy, alongside Malabar Group Chairman M.P. Ahammed and other senior executives. Speaking at the launch, Mr. Ahammed emphasized the company's commitment to the "Make in India, Market to the World" vision. “This facility represents a transformative step in positioning India as a global hub for fine jewellery craftsmanship,” he said.
Equipped with cutting-edge machinery from the USA, Germany, Italy, and Turkey, the plant employs over 2,750 skilled artisans from across 18 Indian states. Forty percent of the workforce is drawn from the local population, with a male-to-female ratio of 80:20. The site also includes advanced R&D centres and a skill development hub, reinforcing the group’s focus on innovation and workforce development.
Malabar Gold & Diamonds’ vertically integrated model—from sourcing bullion to retail—gives it a strong competitive edge. The new Hyderabad facility supports the brand’s aggressive retail expansion, with plans to extend its footprint to all 22 Indian states and three union territories by the end of the fiscal year.
Globally, the group operates more than 400 showrooms across 13 countries, supported by 14 manufacturing units and 14 wholesale outlets. With this latest development, Malabar’s total annual production capacity now exceeds 40 tonnes of gold jewellery and 3.6 lakh carats of diamonds, reinforcing its stature among the largest jewellery manufacturers in the world.
