Kia India has unveiled a new electric vehicle (EV) ecosystem designed to make EV ownership simpler and more convenient for customers. At the heart of this initiative is the K-Charge platform, which connects users to more than 11,000 charging points across the country.
The company is set to launch its first made-in-India electric car, the Carens Clavis EV, on July 15 at 12:00 PM via a webcast.
The K-Charge platform, integrated within the MyKia app, helps users easily locate nearby charging stations, check real-time availability, and make payments—all in one place. This eliminates the need for multiple third-party apps.Kia also plans to expand this network to over 20,000 charging points by 2026.
Kia has established over 250 EV-ready workshops across India, equipped with advanced tools and trained technicians to support EV maintenance. Additionally, 100+ dealerships now have DC fast chargers (60kW to 240kW) for quick top-ups. For home charging, Kia is offering 7.4kW and 11kW AC chargers, giving customers convenient and efficient options for charging at home.
Joonsu Cho, Chief Sales Officer at Kia India, said:"We’ve built an ecosystem that makes owning and driving an electric vehicle simple and reliable. This will not only improve the customer experience but also accelerate EV adoption across the country."
Kia began production in India in 2019 at its Anantapur facility in Andhra Pradesh and has manufactured over 1.5 million vehicles to date. The brand currently operates 744 touchpoints across 329 cities in India.
Kia’s Indian lineup includes models such as Seltos, Sonet, Carens, Carnival, EV6, EV9, and now the upcoming Carens Clavis EV, the company’s first locally manufactured electric vehicle.
Globally, Kia has earned recognition for its EV innovation, with models like the EV6, EV9, and EV3 winning prestigious international awards, including World Performance Car of the Year and World Car of the Year.
