The partnership marks HPCL's strategic push to strengthen its non-fuel retail business by transforming fuel stations into modern travel destinations offering dining, convenience, and hospitality services. The first 8,000 sq. ft. facility at Kurgaon will feature multiple food brands, cafés, regional eateries, EV charging stations, clean restrooms and other traveller-centric amenities, with plans to replicate the model across key national highways.
The initiative is aimed at strengthening HPCL's non-fuel retail business while enhancing the travel experience for customers through integrated dining and convenience services.
The first project under the partnership will be set up at HPCL's Kurgaon Wayside Amenity under the Prayagraj Retail Regional Office. Spread across 8,000 sq. ft., the facility will house multiple food brands, cafés, local dhabas, clean restrooms, EV charging infrastructure and other traveller-focused amenities.
The companies said the project is designed to serve as a comprehensive highway stop for long-distance commuters by combining fuel, food and convenience services at a single location.
Commenting on the initiative, HPCL said, "At HPCL, we don’t just fuel your journey, we make every stop worthwhile." The partnership comes as oil marketing companies increasingly focus on expanding non-fuel revenue streams by monetising their highway real estate. With demand rising for cleaner, safer and more organised highway pit stops, the new format aims to cater to changing consumer preferences while creating additional value from existing fuel retail infrastructure.
FoodMojo will manage the food and hospitality operations through its technology-enabled platform, offering a mix of quick-service restaurant formats, including premium cafés and regional dining concepts. The project will also incorporate digital food ordering, streamlined supply chains and hospitality training programmes to support local employment.
Following the Kurgaon launch, HPCL plans to replicate the model at other high-traffic fuel stations along major national highways across the country.
