Twelve years after entering the hospitality sector, Cygnett Hotels & Resorts has grown into a nationwide hotel management company with more than 4,000 operational and pipeline keys spread across over 41 destinations in India.
Since commencing operations in 2014, the company has built a portfolio of 45 operational hotels and resorts spanning business centres, leisure destinations, pilgrimage hubs, and emerging tourism markets. Its early focus on Tier II and Tier III cities, along with the North East region, enabled it to establish a presence in underserved markets ahead of broader industry expansion.
Over time, Cygnett strengthened its footprint in locations such as Ayodhya and several North Eastern cities, benefiting from improved infrastructure, enhanced connectivity, and rising travel demand in these regions.
The hospitality group currently operates a multi-brand portfolio comprising Cygnett Hotels, Cygnett Park, Cygnett Inn, Cozzet, Cygnett Resort/Retreat, and Anamore, its upper-upscale brand focused on experiential hospitality.
Looking ahead, the company is pursuing an aggressive growth agenda, with a pipeline of new properties slated to open over the next 24–30 months. Upcoming projects are planned across destinations including Pushkar, Jaipur, Kasauli-Kiarighat, Srinagar, Goa, Guwahati, Itanagar, Jim Corbett National Park, Gurugram, Navi Mumbai, Hyderabad, Ujjain, Tirupati, Vrindavan, and Tawang, among others.
A key driver of this expansion is the company’s strategic alliance with Wyndham Hotels & Resorts, which provides access to the global hospitality group's distribution platform, international sales network, and the Wyndham Rewards loyalty programme with more than 122 million members worldwide.
The collaboration is also shaping Cygnett’s brand evolution. Several upcoming properties are expected to operate under Wyndham-linked brands, including Cygnett Hotels, Cygnett Park, Cygnett Inn, and Cozzet under the Trademark Collection by Wyndham umbrella, alongside Anamore and Anamore Select under Registry Collection Hotels by Wyndham and La Quinta by Wyndham.
The integration is already underway, with multiple existing hotels in Jaipur, Itanagar, Tezpur, Dibrugarh, Bongaigaon, Bhubaneswar, and Ayodhya becoming part of the Trademark Collection by Wyndham portfolio.
Sarbendra Sarkar, Founder & Managing Director, Cygnett Hotels & Resorts, said, "When we started Cygnett twelve years ago, we were convinced that India's hospitality growth story would increasingly be shaped by emerging cities and untapped destinations. The North East, pilgrimage centres and regional markets offered immense potential, and our strategy was built around participating in this transformation long before it became an industry trend."
He further added, "As we enter the next phase of growth, our focus is on creating a globally connected hospitality platform rooted in regional India. Our partnership with Wyndham, expanding portfolio of brands and strong development pipeline position us well to capitalise on the evolving travel landscape and create long-term value for our stakeholders."
Looking ahead, Cygnett Hotels & Resorts sees significant growth potential emerging from segments such as spiritual tourism, experiential travel, destination weddings, and infrastructure-driven economic development in non-metro markets. As part of its long-term expansion strategy, the company aims to grow its portfolio to more than 100 hotels and 10,000 keys by 2030, strengthening its footprint across India and the wider South Asian region.
