Chinese electric vehicle manufacturer BYD India has reached a major milestone with the delivery of its 10,000th electric vehicle in the country. The company said the achievement highlights the rising acceptance of advanced EV technology among Indian consumers and strengthens its vision of driving India’s transition to sustainable mobility.
Over the years, BYD India has expanded its customer ecosystem with 44 dealerships across major cities, enhanced after-sales services, nationwide roadside assistance, and extended warranty programs. To improve the EV ownership experience, the company has also partnered with Relux Electric for convenient charging solutions.
Globally, BYD has sold over 13 million electric vehicles, contributing to a reduction of an estimated 106.52 billion kilograms of carbon emissions, equivalent to the CO₂ absorbed by nearly 1.77 billion trees. For three consecutive years, BYD has ranked among the Top 10 Most Valuable Global Automotive Brands in Kantar BrandZ, with a 2025 brand valuation of USD 14.4 billion, reflecting 43.6% year-on-year growth.
Showcasing its innovation, BYD recently inaugurated the world’s first all-terrain circuit in Zhengzhou, designed with asphalt and wet skating tracks, cross-country slopes, sandy terrain, and snow/ice driving scenarios.
Commenting on the achievement, Rajeev Chauhan, Head of Electric Passenger Vehicles Business, BYD India, said: “Reaching the 10,000-customer milestone in India is a proud moment for us. This reflects the growing trust and enthusiasm for BYD’s vision of cleaner and greener mobility.”
In India, BYD’s EV portfolio includes the SEALION 7, ATTO 3 eSUV, eMAX 7 eMPV, and the SEAL sedan. The company said its customer-first approach, ecosystem partnerships, and global innovations are not only helping it celebrate this 10,000-customer milestone but also laying the foundation for long-term EV adoption in India.
