Ather 450S Offers Long Range and Sporty Performance

Ather Energy Limited has officially launched its new electric scooter, the Ather 450S, featuring a 3.7 kWh battery pack. The scooter offers an IDC range of 161 kilometers and is priced at ₹1,45,999 (ex-showroom Bengaluru). The new model is targeted at consumers looking for extended range and performance at an affordable price point.

The 450S strikes a balance between premium performance and accessible pricing while maintaining the sporty DNA of the 450 series. According to Ravneet Phokela, Chief Business Officer at Ather Energy, this variant is designed for riders who prefer longer range and sporty ride quality over advanced software features available in the 450X. The company aims to deliver the same thrilling performance of the 450 platform, now with increased practicality.

The 450S is powered by a 5.4 kW motor that produces 22 Nm of torque, accelerates from 0 to 40 km/h in just 3.9 seconds, and achieves a top speed of 90 km/h. Riders can choose from four ride modes – Smart Eco, Eco, Ride, and Sport. Key features include a 7-inch DeepView Display with Bluetooth connectivity, turn-by-turn navigation, and auto brightness adjustment. Safety features include AutoHold, Fall Safe, Emergency Stop Signal, and Amazon Alexa integration.

The 450S also connects to Ather’s expanding network of over 3,300 fast-charging points across India. With home charging, the battery charges from 0 to 80% in 4 hours and 30 minutes. Ather’s Eight70 battery warranty covers 8 years or 80,000 km, ensuring a minimum of 70% battery health. City-wise pricing varies, and deliveries are expected to begin from August 2025.
