
The South Delhi Municipal Corporation (SDMC) will be building more model schools with facilities such as smart classes, nursery, computer labs, science labs and CCTV cameras, among others. Initially, 40 such schools have been inaugurated at Malviya Nagar.
Nandini Sharma, Education Committee Chairperson of SDMC, said, "The facilities at the Malviya Nagar school include smart classes, multi-playstations, a hall for indoor games, English-medium classes, a medical room, library, ramps for physically disabled children and water coolers."
"We will be opening more schools in phases within the next year. New schools are coming up in areas like C R Park, Raghubeer Nagar within the next month. They will also be opened in areas such as Dwarka, Saket, Garhi and Greater Kailash," Sharma added.
The school will be constructed at the cost of around Rs 2 crore.
