
Essel Group, a company with diverse portfolio is all set to invest Rs 500 crore to open 300 schools across the nation by 2015. These schools will be a mix of both company owned and franchised.
The investment also includes the Group's first university, being set up in Uttaranchal. It has already started construction of Himgiri Nabh Vishwavidyalaya at Uttaranchal on an area of 60 acres and is expected to be operational by end of 2011.
The Group has a vision of targeting one million students for the proposed 300 schools in the next five years. All these 300 schools would be affiliated to the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) and 200 of them would be set up under ‘partnership mode’.
