
Air India, a brand of the National Aviation Company of India Ltd has recently signed a franchise agreement with the UK's Pratt & Whitney to open an EcoPower engine wash service at Mumbai International Airport , confirms a company official.
Pratt & Whitney is a division of United Technologies Corp and has the patent for EcoPower engine wash system. This engine wash system helps in reducing the fuel burn by as much as 1.2 per cent, eliminating three pounds of carbon dioxide emissions for every pound of fuel saved.
The agreement will help Air India to perform EcoPower engine washes on various engines in its fleet of aircraft and also offer services to other carriers in the region.
