The Embassy Restaurant is extending its footprint with the opening of a new outlet at Elan Epic Mall in Sector 70, Gurgaon, marking its entry into a new micro-market while reinforcing its legacy positioning in North India’s dining landscape.
Established in 1948 in New Delhi, the restaurant was founded in the post-Partition era by G. K. Ghai and P. N. Malhotra, who built the brand on consistent food offerings and a community-centric dining ethos. Over the years, its Connaught Place outlet evolved into a prominent social hub, drawing a diverse clientele that included political figures, artists, and families.
The brand continues to follow its original menu philosophy, centred on dishes that have remained largely unchanged over time. Its offerings still reflect recipes rooted in the mid-20th century, carried forward with minimal alteration, with the latest expansion positioned as a continuation of this legacy rather than a departure in format.
Pranay Bahl added, “My great grandfather built Embassy in 1948 with the belief that food could bring people together in uncertain times. Decades later, Avantika and I are proud to carry that legacy forward in Gurgaon, honouring the originals while welcoming a new generation to the table.”
Avantika Sinha Bahl added, “Embassy has history, but it also has energy. We wanted Gurgaon to experience the warmth, theatre and timeless charm of the brand in a space designed for today’s diners.”
At its Gurgaon location, The Embassy Restaurant will showcase a selection of signature dishes that have long defined the brand’s recall. These include The Embassy Giant Samosa, Imperial Chicken Chaat, Chana Bhatura, Dal Meat, Tomato Fish, and The Embassy Pudding, alongside a broader mix of North Indian and continental offerings.
The outlet is designed to accommodate around 80 guests and also features a private dining area for up to 10 people. Its interiors blend traditional cues with contemporary layouts aligned to evolving dining preferences, incorporating indoor seating, a live performance stage, and design elements that reflect the brand’s heritage.
This expansion mirrors a wider industry trend of legacy restaurant brands entering newer urban markets while preserving their core identity. The Gurgaon launch enables The Embassy Restaurant to engage a growing customer base in the NCR region, driven by a combination of corporate, residential, and retail demand.
Located at Elan Epic Mall, the new outlet underscores a calibrated growth approach, with the brand focusing on selective expansion while maintaining the operational consistency and menu continuity built over more than seven decades.
