Samarpan, a leading residential rehabilitation center near Pune, has made history by becoming India’s first—and Asia’s second—facility to earn a Three-Year Accreditation from the Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF) International. The accreditation, awarded to its Residential Program for Substance Use Disorders/Addictions (Adults), is CARF’s highest level of recognition and a global gold standard in behavioral health care.
This achievement is particularly noteworthy as Samarpan secured the accreditation within just three years of its inception—an exceptionally short timeframe in an industry where the process typically takes much longer. CARF evaluates organizations against over 1,500 rigorous standards focused on safety, quality, and measurable outcomes.
“Achieving this accreditation places us among the world’s elite treatment providers,” said Martin Peters, Chief Operating Officer. “It underscores our commitment to clinical excellence and ethical care.”
Located on a serene private estate, Samarpan provides world-class, evidence-based treatment for individuals struggling with addiction and co-occurring mental health conditions. The center blends therapeutic depth with the privacy and comfort of a boutique retreat, attracting clients from across India and internationally.
Chief Clinical Officer Obi Unaka credited the achievement to the dedication and professionalism of the entire team: “This milestone reflects our shared commitment to raising the bar for recovery services in India.”
Samarpan now plans to extend its quality focus to outpatient services, with the goal of achieving CARF accreditation across its growing clinical offerings.
