Diversifying beyond real estate development, Omaxe Limited has entered the hospitality sector with the launch of a dedicated business vertical and plans to develop 19 hotels across India over the next four to five years. The company has earmarked an investment of approximately Rs 6,200 crore to build hospitality assets in high-growth urban centres, pilgrimage destinations and key transit corridors.
According to a regulatory filing, Omaxe intends to establish its hospitality presence across 13 cities in five states by integrating hotels within its existing townships, mixed-use developments, commercial projects and urban infrastructure initiatives.
The proposed portfolio includes 12 hotels in Uttar Pradesh, comprising two in Ayodhya, three in Lucknow, one each in Prayagraj, Ghaziabad and Gorakhpur, two in Kaushambi and two in Vrindavan. In addition, the company plans to develop one hotel each in New Delhi, Faridabad and Ujjain, along with four hotels across Chandigarh, Amritsar and Ludhiana, including two properties in Chandigarh.
In its filing, the company stated, "The company proposes to invest approximately Rs. 6,200 crore over the next 4–5 years, subject to project-specific, regulatory, and other necessary approvals, as well as market conditions, to develop hospitality assets across high-growth urban centres, pilgrimage destinations, and transit corridors."
With its hospitality portfolio expected to mature over the coming years, Omaxe projects annual revenue of more than Rs 1,000 crore from the new business vertical. The company stated that this estimate is based on current business assumptions and remains subject to factors such as project execution, occupancy levels, market conditions, regulatory approvals and other operational considerations.
Among its flagship developments is the 158-key Gateway Hotel by IHCL at The Omaxe State, a 50.4-acre integrated destination in Dwarka, New Delhi, being developed under a Public-Private Partnership (PPP) model with the Delhi Development Authority (DDA).
In Uttar Pradesh, Omaxe also plans to develop transit-oriented hospitality infrastructure through its Public-Private Partnership (PPP) projects with the Uttar Pradesh State Road Transport Corporation (UPSRTC).
The hospitality portfolio will span midscale and upscale branded hotels, luxury and premium flagship properties, high-capacity pilgrimage hotels, branded serviced apartments and extended-stay studios, reinforcing the company's long-term growth strategy in India's expanding hospitality sector.
