In a move set to bolster international cooperation in the franchising sector, the Indian Small Business & Franchise Association (ISFA) has signed a strategic Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Russia Franchise Federation. The agreement was formalised during a ceremony in Moscow and marks a key milestone in deepening business ties between the two nations.
The partnership aims to foster entrepreneurship and support the growth of small and medium enterprises (SMEs) in both India and Russia. Under the MoU, the two organisations will collaborate on information sharing, joint training initiatives, and cross-border franchise development programmes. The initiative also seeks to create a robust platform for aspiring entrepreneurs and established brands looking to expand internationally.
“Franchising is no longer just a business model—it’s a global language of entrepreneurship,” said ISFA Chairman Gaurav Marya. “This partnership between ISFA and the Russia Franchise Federation is a progressive step toward building an inclusive and borderless franchise ecosystem.”
As part of the agreement, ISFA and the Russia Franchise Federation plan to co-host exhibitions, training sessions, and international forums. They will also promote franchise opportunities across platforms, identify new business and government stakeholders, and encourage participation in global entrepreneurial events.
The collaboration is seen as a timely move amid growing interest in international franchising, particularly between emerging markets. It is expected to pave the way for greater visibility and expansion of Indian and Russian brands abroad, while also strengthening bilateral economic ties through sustained entrepreneurial engagement.
The alliance underscores a shared commitment to building dynamic, globally connected franchise networks and supporting the next generation of entrepreneurs across both countries.
