The facility will stock over 4,000 products, including essential staples like rice, aata, and pulses, as well as snacks, beverages, personal care items, and household goods.

Flipkart, one of India’s leading e-commerce platforms, has launched its first grocery fulfillment center (FC) in Agartala, marking a strategic expansion into the Northeast. The new facility aims to enhance the company's last-mile delivery capabilities and meet the surging demand for online grocery services in Tripura and neighboring states.

Spanning 35,000 square feet, the Agartala FC is designed to process over 5,000 daily orders. In addition to serving customers across Tripura, the center will also cater to Manipur, Meghalaya, Mizoram, and Nagaland, significantly improving delivery speed and reliability in the region.

The facility will stock over 4,000 products, including essential staples like rice, aata, and pulses, as well as snacks, beverages, personal care items, and household goods. Flipkart has also integrated locally preferred brands into its product mix, reflecting the diverse tastes and preferences of the region’s consumers.

“This development marks an important step in enhancing the state’s digital infrastructure and strengthening our supply chain capabilities,” said Manik Saha, Chief Minister of Tripura. “It’s a welcome boost to local employment and economic growth.”

According to Flipkart, the center is expected to generate over 200 direct and indirect jobs, while also creating new market opportunities for small businesses, MSMEs, and local farmers.

Rajneesh Kumar, Chief Corporate Affairs Officer of Flipkart Group, said, “The launch of our first grocery FC in Tripura is a key milestone in our mission to improve access to quality grocery products in the Northeast. We remain committed to supporting local communities, empowering farmers and small businesses, and creating meaningful employment across the region.”

Flipkart continues to invest in customer-centric features such as voice-enabled shopping, regional language interfaces, credit options, and open-box delivery. The Agartala facility reinforces the company’s broader vision to democratize access to e-grocery services and promote inclusive digital growth across India.
