CookieMan, operated by Australian Foods India Private Limited, has appointed Saibal Chandra Banerjee as Business Head – Trade Sales, marking a strategic step in its transition from experience-led retail to a broader FMCG-driven growth model.
Known for its freshly baked offerings and in-store theatre across malls and high streets, the brand is now accelerating its presence on national retail shelves, indicating a shift towards scale, distribution, and repeat consumption.
Banerjee brings extensive experience across leading retail formats, having previously worked with Spencer's Retail, Foodhall, Wellness Forever, and Magson Retail. His appointment is expected to support the brand’s push into structured trade channels by combining retail expertise with FMCG execution capabilities.
The company already has an established presence across organised retail formats, including hypermarkets such as Reliance Smart and METRO Cash & Carry, national chains like Spencer's Retail and Reliance Fresh, and gourmet retailers including Modern Bazaar, Food Square, and Freshpik. Its distribution also spans regional players such as Grace Retail, Magsons Goa, and Geom365, along with travel retail formats like Relay and Bon Voyage.
With a premium and curated shelf presence already in place, the brand’s next phase is expected to focus on increasing product velocity, expanding distribution depth, and driving repeat consumption. Industry observers suggest that, if executed effectively, this shift could position CookieMan for significant scale-up over the next few years within India’s evolving premium packaged foods segment.
