Amazon Ramps Up Festive Season Delivery with 12 New Fulfilment Centres, 6 Sort Centres Across India
New sort centres have been set up in Hubli, Trivandrum, Rajpura, Gorakhpur, Moradabad, and Prayagraj, adding 500,000 sq. feet of space to streamline the sorting and dispatch of packages.

In a major boost to its logistics network ahead of the high-demand festive season, Amazon India has announced the launch of 12 new fulfilment centres (FCs) and six new sort centres (SCs) across key cities, adding significant capacity to its nationwide operations.

The expansion brings 8.6 million cubic feet of additional storage — described by the company as equivalent to "100 Olympic-sized swimming pools" — and marks Amazon's first fulfilment centre presence in Hooghly, Tiruvallur, Krishnagiri, Visakhapatnam, and Hubballi.

Alongside, new sort centres have been set up in Hubli, Trivandrum, Rajpura, Gorakhpur, Moradabad, and Prayagraj, adding 500,000 sq. feet of space to streamline the sorting and dispatch of packages.

“Ahead of the upcoming festive season, Amazon today announced a major expansion of its operations network,” the company said in an official release, underscoring its aim to place products closer to customers and improve delivery speed for sellers and buyers alike.

The newly added facilities are fully operational, just in time for the festive period — a peak shopping season in India fueled by cultural celebrations, gifting, and attractive discounts. The move is also expected to create thousands of job opportunities, including roles for fulfilment and sortation associates, team leads, and process assistants, across full-time and part-time formats.

According to the 2025 JioStar Festive Sentiment Survey, 92% of Indian consumers plan to maintain or increase their festive spending this year, reflecting strong consumer confidence and significant opportunities for brands and sellers.

With the logistics expansion, Amazon aims to stay ahead of demand surges, improve serviceability in emerging markets, and reinforce its position as a key enabler of India's festive e-commerce ecosystem.
