The only service provider of its kind in the country that provide trained technicians to its franchisees is FASTCLEAN, an initiative of Water Care. Mr Manoj Agarwal, CEO & Founder, FASTCLEAN, shares the growth and success of the company.

Abha Garyali (AG): Share with us the inception; growth and success of FASTCLEAN. How has been its journey so far?

Manoj Agarwal (MA): Well FASTCLEAN an initiative of Water Care was started in 2006 with a humble investment after realising the need to have a scientific and hygienic process to clean and disinfect water storage tanks at Raipur. The initial first year was spent encountering many practical problems no doubt but then, we were successful in developing it as a proven business model and since then, there is no looking back. Today, we have four owned outlets and more than 22 franchisees in the country operating as on date. The journey has been immensely satisfactory and fruitful as we have created an opportunity for many towards entrepreneurship.

AG: When and what inspired the brand to take the franchise route?

MA: Our website developed in the year 2010 received good response from many service seekers and they enquired if we have similar service provider in their area and that gave us an idea about taking the franchising route. Franchise India, Asia’s largest franchise portal was the obvious choice as we did not want to compromise on the deliverables.

AG: What is the USP of FASTCLEAN that makes it different from other brands of its kinds?

MA: We are the fastest emerging brand in mechanised cleaning and disinfection of water storage tanks in the county, ISO 9001:2008 Certified company verified by Franchise India since more than 24 months uninterruptedly.

We have experience and expertise to clean water storage tanks from 500lts to 35lakh ltrs through our trained technicians, equipments and well developed back up infrastructure.

We are the only service provider of its kind in the country who provide trained technicians to its franchisee on full/part time basis as per requirement throughout the franchising period.

We are a Low Investment High Return Business Opportunity catering to the basic need of providing clean and hygienic water to the people.

We have a well tested and proven business model in mechanised cleaning and disinfection of water storage tanks with myriads of live orders from corporate and private/govt. institutions to prove our claims.

AG: Where do you see the brand in five years time? What are your aspirations from the year 2012?

MA: We have a vision and mission to reach most part of the country through franchising route and make our brand synonym to cleaning. We have a definite plan to have more than 200 franchisees in the next five year. This year we aim to add at least 25 more franchisees by the end of March 2012.

AG: What strategies has the brand adopted to deal with competition from other brands?

MA: Franchisee Service is the key issue. We are very sensitive towards educating them before the launch, training of staff and franchisee, pre-marketing activity and spot supply of trained staff are other advantages which the franchisee appreciates a lot. Further, we take deep interest in developing market for them through our innovative marketing strategy.

AG: What according to you is the scope for aspiring franchisees in this business? Is the future bright in the years to come?

MA: Well, we see an awesome potential in cleaning Industry.  Clean water is the basic need for everybody and it is directly related to population which is ever increasing. The future of FASTCLEAN is bright and recession proof. Today, lot of people from other prestigious profession like banking, insurance, IT are leaving their jobs and entering into entrepreneurship through us – with a smile.

AG: What are the qualities and qualifications that you seek for in your franchisees? How much investment is required by aspiring franchisees?

MA: Minimum graduate or above from any discipline, willingness to enter into entrepreneurship, passion to do something different in life and be his own boss and knack for serving in a service based industry are the pre requisites that we look for in aspiring franchisees. There is a modest investment of Rs5.5 lakh which covers franchisee fee, equipments, training and other expenses.

AG: Share with us the challenges that can be faced by your franchisees? How can these be overcome?

MA: The biggest challenge faced by our franchisee is finding and retaining trained technicians. This has been solved by us as we have provisions to supply trained staff to our franchisee without any additional fee throughout the franchisee period. We take pride in telling that, probably, we are the only of its kind to offer such services in tank cleaning industry. Today, our staff is rendering their services in many parts of the country.
