Pankaj Gupta was born in Delhi and Socialized in Chandigarh as CA Pankaj Gupta. He was a Petu since his school days. He used to steal and eat the lunch of his classmates and was fondly named 'Petu' by them.

Pankaj is a 2002 National Rank holder Chartered Accountant. He completed his MBA in Finance in 2004 along with ICWA(I). He holds diploma in Information System Audit from ICAI and is also a certified Forensic Accountant & Financial Fraud Analyst. He is a former special invitee to Internal Audit Standards Committee of ICAI and holds over 20 years’ experience in Financial, Management and Information Consulting to various multinational companies.

To fulfil his passion for food, he along with his younger brother Chef Sandeep launched the brand 'Petu Pankaj' in Nov, 2018 and till date opened 9 outlets in QSR and CDR formats across Chandigarh and Punjab region. Petu Pankaj has already been socially recognised with various awards including Best Healthy Biryanis, Most Environment Friendly Packaging, Most Active Brands on Social media and got three nominations in Indian Restaurant Congress 2019 in the very first year for ‘Best Biryani Restaurant of the Year’, ‘Best Restaurant reducing Environment Impact' and 'Best Debutant Restaurant Chain for 2019'.
