Entrepreneurship Speakers

Mr. Vikas Gutgutia,
Founder and MD, Ferns N Petals Pvt. Ltd.

Vikaas Gutgutia, the entrepreneur behind the renowned Ferns and Petals, is an intrepid man known for establishing a unique and robust business model out of a perishable product, i.e. flowers.

Gutgutia, a visionary saw a blossoming future of flowers when he came to Kolkata for further studies and closely observed his uncle’s business of flowers. With this dream in his eyes, he embarked on this unique journey.

With his huge knowledge base and help from his friend, FNP was incepted 15 years back. The budding entrepreneur opened the first flower outlet in 1994 in South Delhi area with a meagre amount of Rs 5000. With his persistent efforts, FNP has become what it is today. The hugely unorganised market provided him an opportunity to outshine and became a clear leader in the industry. He tasted success in 2004 when he brought a new edge to the flower gifting culture in the country.

Gutgutia has won many accolades. He was nominated as an Entrepreneur of the Year by Ernst & Young. He was invited for a summit on Innovative Business for turning a perishable product to an imperishable business model. And rewarded by ISB for introducing an innovative category business model.

A far-sighted vision, never say die spirit and his steadfastness to experiment constantly has led Gutgutia to come a long way.

"The change begins with me."
"I am going to clean up politics."
"I am not looking for a job. I will create jobs."
"You see a challenge. I see opportunity."

National pride, or the spirit that binds us together as a
collective soul, does not have a permanent home in our
hearts and mind. For most of us it responds to the
stimulus of a cricket match, on national holidays or
situations of armed conflict. Most of the times we are
filled with mixed emotions.
