Dr. Satish Puranam is an accomplished retail leader with 31 years of experience spanning business development, retail operations, franchising, and strategy. A Ph. D in Management, he holds expertise in catchment analysis, customer buying behavior and possesses in-depth knowledge of Indian markets. He has contributed to leading organizations including Reliance Retail, Landmark Group, Trent, Titan, Arvind Fashions, Indus League, VST Industries, and Mafatlal Industries. Early in his career, he developed expertise in distributor management, deep-market expansion, and trade marketing across diverse regions.
Role & Responsibilities
Dr. Puranam played a key role in the launch of Indigo Nation and Scullers, gaining valuable franchisee insights under industry veteran Sriram Srinivasan. His franchise development capabilities were further honed at Titan and Arvind Brands, while a decade of mentorship under fashion leader Vasanth Kumar deepened his understanding of franchisee expectations and cross-functional alignment. He later contributed significantly to accelerating Zudio’s expansion. Now at Reliance Retail, Dr. Puranam is shaping franchising strategies for multiple formats, emphasizing four pillars of franchise success: strong brand positioning, franchise-friendly models, robust supply chains, and comprehensive franchisee support—all anchored in the belief that sustainable franchisee profitability drives long-term brand growth.
