V. Balasubramaniam (Bala) is the Chief Business Officer at BSE Ltd (formerly Bombay Stock Exchange) responsible for the Markets – Trading Business, Data Business, Listings Business and Index Business and a part of the Executive Management Committee. He has more than two decades of experience in managing business and technology operations in the capital markets and derivatives market industry. He was part of the Core team involved in setting up the National Stock Exchange (NSE) and played a key role in the setting up of NSE trading systems for the Equity segment, creation of indices (Nifty 50), introduction of Certification program and Equity Derivatives market segment of NSE. He also has three successful startups to his credit.
