In a move that underscores its ongoing expansion in India’s burgeoning religious and leisure tourism sectors, Wyndham Hotels & Resorts has announced plans to open a new upscale hotel in Ayodhya. The property, Ramada Plaza by Wyndham Ayodhya Masodha, is scheduled for completion in 2028 and will be developed in partnership with M/s Anuprit Solutions Private Limited.
The new hotel will feature 120 well-appointed guest rooms along with a wide range of premium amenities. These include an all-day dining restaurant, modern banquet and meeting spaces, a spa, swimming pool, and other facilities aimed at providing a high-quality guest experience to both leisure and business travelers.
“Ayodhya is rapidly emerging as a major pilgrimage and cultural hub,” said Rahool Macarius, Market Managing Director, Eurasia, Wyndham Hotels & Resorts. “This new signing is part of our strategic focus on high-growth tier-2 and tier-3 markets in India. It also marks our second property in Ayodhya, reflecting our confidence in the city’s long-term tourism potential.”
Recognized as the birthplace of Lord Ram, Ayodhya attracts millions of domestic and international pilgrims each year. The city is currently undergoing significant infrastructural transformation, including government-backed investments in riverfront development, eco-tourism, and improved connectivity. The recent inauguration of Maharishi Valmiki International Airport has further boosted accessibility to the region.
The upcoming Ramada Plaza by Wyndham will help meet the rising demand for quality accommodations in Ayodhya, providing guests with an upscale and reliable lodging option close to key cultural and religious sites.
The development is part of Wyndham’s broader strategy to expand its presence across India, particularly in spiritual and heritage-rich destinations. With a global portfolio of approximately 9,300 hotels across over 95 countries, and a base of more than 115 million Wyndham Rewards members, the company continues to solidify its leadership in the hospitality franchising space.
The new Ayodhya project reaffirms Wyndham’s commitment to collaborating with local partners to bring world-class hospitality to India's high-growth destinations.
