Online food delivery giant Swiggy has launched ‘DeskEats’, a new curated category aimed at office-goers seeking convenient and work-friendly meals. The offering is now live across 30 cities, including Delhi, Mumbai, Bengaluru, Chennai, Gurugram, Pune, and Kolkata, and is accessible in over 7,000 workplaces such as tech parks and corporate hubs.
DeskEats features a wide selection of over 700,000 dishes from 200,000 restaurants. Users can discover these options by searching “Office” or “Work” on the app. The category is divided into sub-sections like Value Combos, Stress Munchies, Deadline Desserts, One-Handed Grabbies, Healthy Nibbles, and Teamwork Bites, catering to various workday needs — from solo snacks to group meals.
Swiggy piloted DeskEats ahead of launch, identifying regional favourites: chicken popcorn topped ‘Stress Munchies’ in Bengaluru, fries led in Mumbai, and garlic breadsticks were a hit in Gurugram. In the ‘Healthy Nibbles’ category, salads were the preferred choice across all cities.
Mumbai ranked as the top city for DeskEats adoption, with ‘One-Handed Grabbies’ emerging as the most popular sub-category overall.
The launch follows Swiggy’s introduction of its ‘High-Protein’ food section, which attracted 1.8 million users during its pilot phase, reflecting rising demand for healthier and more purpose-driven food choices.
“Whether it’s a quick bite between meetings or a team treat after a deadline, DeskEats is built to match the rhythm of an office day,” said Maloo, VP of Food Marketplace at Swiggy. “It’s designed to make ordering faster, easier, and more relevant for professionals on the go.”
With DeskEats, Swiggy aims to further embed itself into the daily routines of working professionals across India.
