Electric two-wheeler manufacturer Jitendra New EV Tech Pvt. Ltd. has partnered with Battery Smart, India’s leading battery-swapping network for electric two- and three-wheelers. This collaboration will integrate Battery Smart’s battery-swapping technology into Jitendra EV’s fleet, providing users with access to over 1,400 battery-swapping stations across 40 cities in India.
The initiative aims to tackle key barriers to EV adoption, such as range anxiety and charging downtime. With this partnership, Jitendra EV riders can swap depleted batteries for fully charged ones in less than two minutes, making the EV ownership experience more seamless and efficient.
Jitendra EV has introduced a battery-decoupled model, allowing users to purchase vehicles without the cost of a battery. This significantly reduces the upfront investment for fleet operators and individual buyers, making electric scooters more affordable and accessible.
This partnership aligns with the shared vision of both companies to enhance electric mobility accessibility in urban and semi-urban areas. Battery Smart’s subscription-based battery-swapping model provides a cost-effective and flexible alternative to conventional charging infrastructure.
Founded in 2016, Jitendra EV is part of the Shah Group, a business conglomerate with over four decades of industry experience. Battery Smart, co-founded in 2019 by Pulkit Khurana and Siddharth Sikka, has rapidly expanded in India's EV market, completing over 50 million battery swaps and operating 1,400+ swap stations nationwide. This strategic collaboration is expected to accelerate the adoption of sustainable transport solutions and strengthen India's EV ecosystem.
