Chartr, a startup incubated at the Indraprastha Institute of Information Technology, Delhi (IIIT-Delhi), is moving forward with significant success. The startup has now fully acquired the technology developed within the institute, allowing it to commercialize the innovation and bring its products to the market.
Founded by Dr. Pravesh Biyani, a faculty member at IIIT-Delhi, Chartr has been working for the past seven years to improve bus and public transport systems in cities. What initially began as an academic research project has now transformed into a real-world solution actively being used at a large scale.
Dr. Biyani said, "Transforming research into real products is never easy, but we have achieved it. I am proud that we followed all the rules, successfully built the startup, and are now ready to take the next big step."
Chartr systems are already operational in several cities, leading to smoother bus operations, reduced waiting times for passengers, and a more efficient public transport experience.
IIIT-Delhi Director Prof. Ranjan Bose remarked, "This is a proud moment for us. Chartr journey shows that major innovations can also emerge from Indian colleges and universities."
Chartr next goal is to expand its products nationwide, scale its operations, and implement its systems in as many cities as possible. The journey of Chartr is now becoming a source of inspiration for students and professors alike.
