HRD Antwerp, Europe’s leading authority in diamond grading and certification, has officially commenced operations at the Bharat Ratnam Mega Common Facility Centre (CFC) in Mumbai. The strategic collaboration was formally announced at IIJS Premiere 2025, signaling a major boost for India’s gem and jewellery ecosystem.
The new facility brings HRD Antwerp’s globally trusted diamond and jewellery certification services—including natural and lab-grown diamonds—directly to one of India’s most advanced jewellery manufacturing hubs.
The launch event saw participation from prominent industry figures including Mr. Ravi Menon, CEO of Bharat Ratnam Mega CFC; Mr. Tom Neys, Global Marketing, Sales & Education Director at HRD Antwerp; and Mr. Ramakant Mitkar, Managing Director of HRD Antwerp India. The occasion drew manufacturers, retailers, and industry leaders from across the country.
“The Bharat Ratnam Mega CFC was built to give Indian manufacturers access to world-class resources,” said Mr. Ravi Menon. “Welcoming HRD Antwerp into our facility brings us closer to that goal by enabling quality assurance at a global standard.”
HRD Antwerp’s presence at the CFC will allow easier submission of jewellery for grading from exporters and local players alike—including those operating in the MIDC and surrounding areas. The move also supports growing demand for clarity and certification in the lab-grown diamond sector.

Mr. Ramakant Mitkar emphasized the company’s intent to expand access and awareness: “Our integration into the Bharat Ratnam Mega CFC simplifies access for clients across western India, while reinforcing our commitment to educating consumers about authenticity—especially in the evolving lab-grown segment.”
This partnership is expected to significantly elevate the quality, traceability, and international credibility of diamonds and jewellery produced in India. It also aligns with national initiatives to empower small and medium manufacturers through advanced infrastructure and global best practices.
