Aditya Birla-Powered Reebok Doubles Business in Three Years, Eyes Faster Retail Growth
According to company executives, the retail network will continue to expand aggressively, with 40–50 new stores expected to be added every year over the next few years.

Reebok India has recorded remarkable growth under the Aditya Birla Group, with the sportswear brand more than doubling its business over the past three years since the conglomerate acquired exclusive rights to distribute and sell the brand in India. Riding on strong consumer demand, product innovation, and retail expansion, Reebok is now gearing up for its next phase of growth with plans to significantly expand its store network across the country.

The brand currently operates more than 210 stores nationwide, a number that has grown steadily alongside its sales performance. According to company executives, the retail network will continue to expand aggressively, with 40–50 new stores expected to be added every year over the next few years.

“We have about 210-odd stores in the network for Reebok. The runway is much larger than that. Network expansion will continue, 40-50 stores per year for the next few years should be par for the course,” said Vishak Kumar, Deputy Managing Director, Aditya Birla Lifestyle Brands Ltd (ABLBL).

The company plans to leverage opportunities not only in major metropolitan markets but also in emerging retail destinations and smaller towns, where demand for branded sportswear and athleisure products continues to rise.

Reebok's growth trajectory has remained strong. During the March quarter, the brand delivered nearly 30 percent growth, supported by double-digit like-for-like sales growth and continued expansion of its retail footprint.

Highlighting the transformation of the brand under the Aditya Birla Group, Kumar said, “Since we have taken over the brand three years back, it has more than doubled in size.”

Apart from store expansion, product innovation has played a key role in driving growth. The company recently introduced its Multi-Court Shoes range, strengthening its product portfolio and catering to the increasing participation of consumers in sports and fitness activities.

Reebok entered a new phase in India after Aditya Birla Fashion & Retail Ltd signed a long-term licensing agreement with Authentic Brands Group in 2021, securing exclusive rights to distribute and sell Reebok products in India and select ASEAN markets. Following the demerger of the branded apparel business, the brand now operates under Aditya Birla Lifestyle Brands Ltd.

The strong performance of Reebok comes at a time when India's sportswear and athleisure market is witnessing sustained growth, fueled by rising health consciousness, fitness adoption, and growing demand for performance-driven lifestyle products. With its expanding store network, growing product offerings, and robust brand equity, Reebok is well-positioned to strengthen its market presence and capture a larger share of India's evolving sportswear segment.
