Portea Medical partners with Cumbala Hill Hospital to offer after surgery care to cardiac patients

After the success of cardiac surgery, the patient is not completely out of danger, in fact, then the patient needs additional care at home, which the family members can’t give. With an aim to provide extended in-home care to the cardiac surgery patients, Portea Medical has recently joined hands with Cumbala Hill Hospital, one of the oldest hospitals of the country.

“Post cardiac surgery, recovery can be a long drawn out process taking many months or even years. Effective care, post-surgery, requires different interventions from a range of medical professionals. The services offered by Portea will be delivered to patients of Cumbala Hill Hospital, which also include remote ECG monitoring, chest physiotherapy, care of post surgical wounds, assistance with Activities of Daily Living such as maintaining patient hygiene, change of clothing, help with resumption of physical activities, advise on diet and nutrition plan, administering medicine etc.

Uttamani further added, “Our core attention at Cumbala Hill Hospital is on tertiary care in cardiology, cardiac surgery, laparoscopic surgery, high end urological, Eye, ENT surgeries and Hip and Knee Replacement surgeries. We would like to maintain our focus on advanced surgeries with minimum invasion, so that the cost and stay in the hospital is reduced. Therefore, having an effective home medical care partner like Portea is critical for us.”

The services will be delivered by Portea Medical staff, even its ancillary services such as medical equipment on hire, medicine delivery and collection of lab samples from home, will be made available to patients.
