Doctor search engine Practo acquires product outsourcing firm Genii to improve tech team

After Bangaluru-based doctor discovery platform, Practo has announced acquisition of a product outsourcing firm, Genii with deep domain experience building bespoke e-commerce portals, SaaS platforms across retail, media, finance and other industries for clients including Axis Bank, Mediassist, Economic Times, HDFC REDand others.

Acquisition to strengthen tech team at Practo and help accelerate time to market across enterprise segments.

The founders of Genii, Varun Vohra and Aditya Anand, along with the 11-member team will join Practo in Bangaluru and would lead product teams. It will also accelerate Practo’s march towards the enterprise space with products focused around hospitals, diagnostic centers and others.

Practo already lists over 8,000 hospitals on its platform and will expand this to over 20,000 by the end of this year.

While, Genii is a technology services firm focused on product design and development. In the past 3 years, they’ve taken more than 30 products from inception to launch across multiple domains including retail, finance, real estate, travel and events while maintaining triple digit growth year on year.
