In a recent development, Indian Premier League team Chennai Super Kings is all set to cash in on its fan base by launching resort- style health club in its home city Chennai. It is a kind of face saving exercise after the IPL match-fixing scandal.
The official franchise holder of Chennai Super Kings Cement India is looking to venture into sportswear retailing and cricket gear in order to boost its income sources. The upcoming 30,000-square feet health club will be equipped with ultra modern facilities like gym, cafe, restaurant, and a rehabilitation centre for players. It is expected that health club will be in operational mode by the end of 2014.
