The Coffee Bean and Tea Leaf (CBTL) opened its first franchise outlet at Elante Mall, Chandigarh. The brand has its presence across 29 countries with over 1000 stores worldwide.

Amit Maheshwari, Operations Head, CBTL India, said: “CBTL has ambitious plans for Punjab region and in the next few months we would open franchise outlets in Ludhiana and Jalandhar. We are looking at territory based franchise model and are planning for expansion in Chennai, Hyderabad, UP and Rajasthan.”

Currently, CBTL has 27 stores in Mumbai, the NCR, Chennai, Bangalore, Kolkata, Pune and Chandigarh. The brand sources coffee and tea leaves from the best plantations, including the rare Jamaican Blue Mountain Coffee Bean and the Jasmine Dragon Phoenix Pearl. There is also a specialty of exotic teas for tea lovers that range from the customary Earl Grey to the exotic Japanese Cherry Green Tea. The Chandigarh franchise has been taken by two young entrepreneurs Vikram Nagpal and Ankit Ahuja, who are making forays into the mushrooming hospitality industry with the launch of this first franchise outlet of CBTL.
