Home furnishing retailer Danube Home has elevated longtime executive Sayed Habib to the role of Chief Executive Officer (CEO), reflecting the company's focus on leadership development from within as it enters its next phase of growth.
Habib's appointment caps nearly 17 years with the company, having joined Danube Home in October 2009 as a Buyer for the Blinds, Curtains and Wallpaper category. The announcement was made during "40 Careers, 40 Stories", a special celebration held on June 29, 2026, at the Millennium Lakeview Hotel in Dubai, where Danube Home honoured 40 members of its management and leadership team for their significant contributions to the business.
Habib's journey from category buyer to CEO mirrors Danube Home's transformation into one of the region's leading home retail brands. During his tenure, he has played a key role in expanding the company's retail footprint, establishing its franchise business, strengthening omnichannel capabilities, building one of the region's largest e-commerce platforms, and driving customer-centric innovation across the organisation. His emphasis on customer experience, digital transformation and operational excellence has helped position Danube Home for sustainable long-term growth.
A strong advocate of continuous learning, Habib has consistently invested in his professional development through executive education at the Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Bangalore. He has also embraced emerging technologies, including artificial intelligence applications, and regularly visits international retail markets to study global trends and bring best practices back to Danube Home. His leadership philosophy centres on innovation, customer experience, digital transformation and empowering teams to grow.
