The brand currently operates more than 388 stores nationwide, including 69 outlets across Eastern India.

CaratLane is stepping up its retail expansion in Eastern India, with the omnichannel jewellery retailer planning to open five to seven new stores in the region over the coming months. The Tata group company also plans to add 40-50 outlets across India in FY27 as it looks to deepen its presence in key markets.

The brand currently operates more than 388 stores nationwide, including 69 outlets across Eastern India. The planned expansion will be backed by investments in its retail network, product portfolio and omnichannel capabilities.

CaratLane reported 42 per cent growth in the first quarter of FY27, while its buyer base grew 28 per cent, according to a company statement.

West Bengal remains a key market for the brand, where it currently has 31 stores across 11 cities. CaratLane plans to increase this to 35 stores as part of its longer-term expansion strategy in the state.

As part of its Eastern India growth plans, the company has also opened a new flagship store in Gariahat, one of Kolkata’s prominent commercial areas. Spread across three floors, the store incorporates regional influences into its design, décor and ambience, with the overall experience tailored to the aesthetic preferences of Kolkata consumers.

“Kolkata is a key market for CaratLane, driven by strong cultural roots and an appetite for contemporary design. Opening our Gariahat flagship, which thoughtfully incorporates regional flavours into its design and decor, marks an important milestone as we scale to over 35 stores in West Bengal,” CaratLane Managing Director Saumen Bhaumik said.

Adding to its premium retail network, CaratLane’s Gariahat store is positioned among the brand’s flagship outlets in India. The three-floor store offers jewellery for everyday wear, gifting and special occasions, alongside CaratLane’s omnichannel shopping options.

The brand has also expanded its product portfolio with the recent launch of the Kaashika and Polki collections, which were showcased by Bollywood actor and brand ambassador Yami Gautam Dhar.

In a bid to connect with younger consumers, CaratLane has partnered with actor Ashlesha Thakur following the launch of Shaya Diamonds and its contemporary everyday jewellery range in 9kt gold.

The company said its expansion in Kolkata and the wider eastern region forms part of its FY27 growth strategy, with a focus on increasing access to contemporary jewellery while building a stronger presence across high-potential markets.
