Accor Expands TRIBE Hotel Brand into South Asia with Kathmandu Debut
Operated under a management agreement, the hotel is set to introduce a bold, design-focused hospitality experience in one of Kathmandu’s fast-emerging micro-markets.

Accor has expanded its regional footprint with the signing of TRIBE Kathmandu Budhanilkantha, marking the lifestyle brand’s debut in South Asia. Recognised for its smart, functional, and design-led hospitality approach, TRIBE brings a contemporary and energetic concept to the region’s evolving hospitality landscape. The signing also underscores Accor’s continued growth strategy across South Asia.

Planned for a 2029 opening, the 100-key property will be developed in collaboration with Sabrina Limited, led by Chairman Nirajan Thapa. Operated under a management agreement, the hotel is set to introduce a bold, design-focused hospitality experience in one of Kathmandu’s fast-emerging micro-markets.

Set in Budhanilkantha, the hotel enjoys a strategic location close to prominent spiritual and cultural attractions such as Pashupatinath Temple and Boudhanath Stupa, while offering a more serene and green alternative to Kathmandu’s busier urban districts. The neighbourhood is also seeing rising interest from culturally curious travellers and a younger, experience-led guest segment.

The property will offer well-designed guestrooms complemented by dynamic social spaces, including an all-day dining restaurant, a specialty venue, and a signature bar concept aimed at creating an engaging environment for both in-house guests and the local community across different times of the day.

The hotel will further offer around 800 sqm of dedicated event space, along with a swimming pool, spa, and fully equipped fitness centre, enhancing its appeal for both leisure and business travellers.

Speaking on the signing, Ranju Alex said, “The signing of TRIBE Kathmandu Budhanilkantha marks an important milestone in expanding Accor’s presence in South Asia. Kathmandu is a city shaped by heritage, spirituality, and evolving traveller aspirations, making it a natural fit for TRIBE’s bold and socially magnetic approach to hospitality. With its design-led ethos and focus on delivering smart, stylish and comfortable accommodation at an affordable price, TRIBE is well-positioned to resonate with a new generation of travellers. We are delighted to partner with Sabrina Limited to bring this distinctive offering to life in Nepal.”

Nirajan Thapa said: “We are delighted to partner with Accor to introduce Tribe to Nepal with the signing of Tribe Kathmandu Budhanilkantha. Kathmandu is witnessing a growing demand for contemporary hospitality experiences that blend design, comfort, and community, and we believe Tribe perfectly aligns with the evolving preferences of modern travellers. This development reflects our vision to create differentiated hospitality offerings in emerging locations, and we are confident that the hotel will become a landmark lifestyle destination in Kathmandu.”
