Orion Edutech acquires stake in Brain Valley Software Pvt. Ltd

Orion Edutech, India's skill development company, has acquired 67 per cent stake in Chennai-based Brain Valley Software Pvt. Ltd, an independent assessment solution for corporate and education institutes.

This partnership will equip Orion Edutech with Brain Valley’s scalable cloud-based solution, Quizky, for conducting error-free high-stake tests, addressing the Indian $3.4 billion vocational/corporate training market which is growing at 15 per cent annually.

Commenting on the development, Sanjeev Kothari, Co-founder Director, Orion Edutech, said, “Brain Valley’s acquisition will provide us an assessment platform which will seamlessly integrate with our training and skill development programmes. Considering the existing team’s experience and expertise, it has the potential to achieve massive scale and play an important role in improving student learning experiences.”

Funded by Ventureast, Orion Edutech, a skill development company, established in 2007, claims to provide training to more than 1.4 million job aspirants, in addition to placing more than one lakh candidates in over 350 companies from 150+ training centres spread across 19 states in India. The company has implemented technology in its delivery mechanism to maintain quality across centres and is planning to invest extensively in technology.

Brain Valley, which was founded in 2011, provides more than 1.5 million assessments for an array of competitive exams. Brain Valley’s existing customers include leading corporates, national competitive test prep institutes and coaching centres like Kotak, Baijus, IMS, Mahesh Tutorial and others.
