Located on the outskirts of Kolkata, two units of a multi-speciality hospital, Westbank has been acquired by heart-care services giant Narayana Health (NH) for Rs 150 crore.
Earlier in the year, the NH group has acquired Jubilant hospitals at Barasat near Kolkata and Berhampore, about 215 km away from Kolkata.
Significantly, NH will offer cardiac care and cancer care facilities at the newly acquired units of Westbank hospital, besides upgrading tertiary care specialties to extend affordable treatment to the affected people in the eastern region.
Further disclosing the other expansion plans in eastern region, Raghuvanshi said, "We are setting up a 250-bed multi-specialty hospital at Siliguri (560km from Kolkata) and a 300-bed multi-specialty hospital at Bhubaneshwar in Odisha, as West Bengal and eastern India are strategic to our growth plans."
NH group's other hospitals in West Bengal include Rabindranath Tagore International Institute of Cardiac Sciences at Mukundapur, Rabindranath Tagore Surgical Centre at Highland Park and Rotary Narayana multi-specialty hospital at Salt Lake in Kolkata.
