Nothing comes quick in any business. I have learnt this after testing the waters as a serial entrepreneur, believes Munish Ohri, a multi-unit multi-brand franchisee for brands like La Pinoz Carat Lane. In a discussion with us, Munish Ohri recalls about his success story and his journey so far.

How has beenyour association with La Pinoz CaratLaneso far?

La Pinoz has been one of the best brands to work with. The brand is enriched with amazing business ethics, thorough backend support and ability to drive business. I have been associated with this leading pizza brand since 2018 and operate 30 stores as a Master Franchisee in Delhi. Whereas CaratLane is concerned, it is an iconic brand to reckon with. Carat Lane is one of the most organized jewellery brand and has a proven business model. I got the opportunity to associate with the brand in 2022 and have plans to open another outlet soon.

What inspired you to be in franchise business?

My association with franchise retail business is almost two decades old. I started my entrepreneurial journey with Nike and then took the franchise of Lotto, Satya Paul, AM PM and a few other retail brands. I had an amazing experience of operating these various leading brands in Chandigarh. My stint with these brands was not that long as I had to move to Canada for unavoidable reasons. After a break of few years I again took the plunge of delving into the franchise pool and got associated with La Pinoz in 2018 and since then there is no looking back. The brands I am associated with have a strong foundation as well as its success made me become their Franchisee and I have only seen success so far.

Looking at the number, your outlets seem to have achieved good performance and sales. How did you achieve it?

There have been a few guidelines which we have been following since day one. These are building a good operations team, selecting partners very diligently, strong operations follow-ups, training on selling-skills and product sales, motivated staff and and keeping up with trends to further boost sales. All these factors are behind the success of our outlets.

Share with us your future plans as well?

My aim and hope is to continue to expand and grow with the brands as and when opportunity presents itself. For La Pinoz, we are soon planning to take the number to 50 stores in Delhi as a Master Franchisee and even have plans to take it internationally. I am positive there is no better brand to be associated within the pizza jewellery industry. We are also planning to add a few other retail brands in our kitty.

Your take on franchising.

I realised that the Indian market will eventually move to branded retail in a big way, which is why I chose to venture into franchising. Retail FB is a very hands-on customer centric model and we felt that with our ethics and operational capability, this is ultimately where the market will move and hence we ventured into this.

A word ofadvicefor young entrepreneurs.

I believe hardwork dedication is the only way to success. As success doesnt comes easy, dare to take risks which one can handle.
