Setu Deals With Modern Health Issues and Natural Ingredients: Nihaal Mariwala

The wellness industry is undergoing a huge change which is caused by a number of factors; one of the most important factors is the lifestyle.

The lifestyle of people has changed a lot in the past couple of years, people are more prone to fall ill, fitness has become their number one priority and the adulteration of food products has left many scopes as well as pressure on wellness brands to bring forth products, which can match steps in tackling the problems.

In a conversation with Nihaal Mariwala, CEO & Co-founder of Setu, a Wellness brand, made from natural ingredients and enhanced by science.

The scope of the Wellness Business

Mariwala explains the scope of growth in wellness business as, “Wellness business is a fast-growing one with many opportunities that are being driven further by a range of factors, including India's young population, rising disposable incomes and an increase in the occurrence of communicable and non- communicable diseases.”

He further adds, “Strong economic growth in the past few years has resulted in a transition in dietary habits which led to a steep rise in lifestyle-related ailments. Never before have Indians been more conscious of their wellness as they are now. Changing their lifestyle patterns and nutritional statuses have been a contributing factor to bringing the wellness industry to its forefront. Rapid urbanization is further fueling this trend.”

Origin of Setu

Mariwala gives a brief about his products saying, “Our range of products was designed to cater to lifestyle ailments that are exaggerated by modern urban lifestyles. Modern lifestyles come with their own set of challenges like exposure to digital screens, stress, bad diet, resulting in the development of a number of ailments such as eye fatigue, indigestion, and diabetes. New age natural (evolved by science) solutions are needed to address these modern lifestyle issues, as daily nutritional values are not met.”

He further describes Setu while citing some examples, “For example, most of us are exposed to harmful blue light emitted by digital devices. We formulated Setu Eye Max, which is the optimal way to protect your eyes against carotenoid loss and daylong exposure to the harmful blue light. Our all-natural daily supplement is enriched with the two best carotenoids for retina health—lutein and zeaxanthin known as master eye vitamins. In addition, we added bilberry extract found in Eye Max, which is known to sharpen night vision, and NAG helps to lubricate tired and dry eyes.”

Future of Setu Five Years From Now

Mariwala explains his plans, “We plan to build a 150-200 crore brand in 5 years across channels. Our plans are to scale our offerings into more health categories, with tailored focus on below 35 and above 35 segments. Setu is also looking to eventually offer guidance and counseling on nutrition, wellness, and fitness for its consumers, with access to a content platform, which exclusively deals with modern health issues and natural ingredients.”
