Let 2016 be the onset for the fit and fabulous! Hence, start working towards it.

As technology garbs most of our daily lives, making us lazy and less productive, it’s essential to motivate our inner self before hitting the gym; and for the already motivated ones, it would be interesting to know the upcoming trends topping the charts.

Ashish Gupta, Director, Gold’s Gym Gurgaon talks about most of the trends which will rule the temple of fitness. Most of the gymnasiums will absorb these exercises and routines for their clientele and it is definite to bring about a positive impact to the daily routine life.

“Treadmills and Steppers could easily become a thing of the past. There will be a lot of innovation even within closed doors. Wearable technology and apps will also be one of the most opted things, where people will rely more on machines than on themselves. It is not a good thing but if it is time-saving and predicts close to actual results, why not go for it,” said he.

THE ONGOING FIVE FITNESS TRENDS:

Nature Workout:
Exclusively conceptualized by Gold’s Gym, Gurgaon branch- NatureFit is an attempt to bring the members out of the closed gym area in the natural environment. Exercising in the open air is the new fitness trend with renovated workout routines and hurdles. It will sweat the body and yet bring about a positive blood flow to each and every corner of the body and thereby, rejuvenate muscles and tissues. This activity is picking up momentum and will be one of the most wanted activities of 2016.

Masala Bhangra:
Making you groove on the high beats of bhangra (Indian folk dance of Punjab state) to sweat out unwanted body fat? How stimulating does it sound? Interestingly, indeed it is. A pure Desi style of grooving and losing is the new fitness regime. It allows people to unleash their wild and positive side, which in turn helps in losing the unwanted flab.

RIP 60
This form of exercise routine is renowned in gymnasiums outside India. A body weighted suspension-style of training; this method consists of hundreds of off and on-strap movements and relies upon the users’ body weight for resistance. Sounds simple? Wait till you try it!

Battle Rope:
A form of exercise originally developed for combat sports like football and mixed martial arts. This form of exercise is steadily making mainstream. Heavy rope training (or rope battling) is ruling a lot of in-house workout routine and is quite famous among the Bollywood celebrities, TVstars and glitterati.

Plyometrics:
Plyometrics, also known as Jump Training or Plyos is a special form of exercise which concentrates on exerting the muscles using maximum force within short intervals of time. With a goal of increasing power, also known as speed-strength within the body, this form of exercise is also going to catch up speed in the coming year.
