With over 3000 clubs successfully operating across the world, US-based Anytime Fitness chain had forayed into Indian wellness space in 2012. At present, the brand is operating in 23 countries and expected to be in at least 30 countries by 2018. With an elaborate presence in United States, United Kingdom, Australia, Singapore, Hong Kong, Malaysia, New Zealand, Canada, Mexico and India, the key expansion strategy of the brand is franchising.
In an exclusive interaction with WI Bureau, Vikas Jain, Managing Director, Anytime Fitness, shared the terms and other required details of this globally renowned gym chain.
Elaborate on your franchise Model terms quit period and other details.
We offer Sub Franchise, Franchise Owned and Franchise Operated (FoFo). We take a fixed monthly royalty amounting to Rs. 80,000. We don’t work on revenue sharing basis. The initial franchise term is of 6 Years.
What are the emerging trends you see in Wellness Franchise?

We work in tandem with people who wish to enter in this industry, have investment capacity and share immense knowledge, best practices to promote both – success of individual franchisee and the brand. We work with local partners to ensure that address local consumer’s preference and requirements.

Our top franchisees are the ones who are passionate about health, wellness. They shall coach, Care and connect well with the gym members.
How a franchisee's growth affect a Franchisor's growth? Explain the franchisee & franchisor relationship.
As a brand grows, everyone associated with it also grow. This goes hand in hand. If a franchisee is growing, then he would buy another territory or recommend the members, friends and family to buy a franchisee. Thus, the Master franchisee grows automatically.
What kind of support do you offer to a franchisee? Elaborate
Our support starts right from the signing of agreement. Training is a never ending process at Anytime Fitness. We help our franchisees in Club Build out, Grand launch, Marketing, Operations, and Sales.
Are you planning to franchise in an untouched area/category or location in near future? Please share details.
We have already seen success in untouched markets like Bhuj in Gujrat and Dimapur in Nagaland. We will be opening more clubs in such locations, as of now the upcoming locations are GK2 and Punjabi Bagh in New Delhi. We are also tapping Faridabad, Indrapuram, and Ahmadabad cities.

Elaborate on the roadmap ahead for your brand's franchise business? What are your expectations from wellness franchise in years to come?
Franchising helps us partner with the right kind of people to reach areas and cities where our knowledge is limited. Globally, we are No. 1 franchise brand and also the largest operator in few countries. In India as well, we want to be the brand with maximum number of outlets, which we expect to reach by 2020.

As on date there are 13 locations open, 3 in Pre sales and 5 coming soon. All of these are sub - franchise.
