Bengaluru-based Portea Medical, India’s largest and fastest growing home healthcare company, and American Megatrends Inc. (AMI), a leader in the development of smart diagnostic devices, have entered into a strategic partnership aimed at delivering improved health outcomes for homecare patients.

The agreement between Portea Medical and AMI is the first such partnership in the Indian home healthcare market that is valued between $2 billion - $4 billion a year and growing at about 20 per cent annually.

Under the partnership, Portea’s healthcare workers will use AMI’s B.O.L.T. health monitoring device to collect health data such as NiBP (Non-invasive Blood pressure), Pulse, Blood Oxygen Levels and Temperature from their homecare patients on smartphones. The data will then be used to personalize treatment plans and proactively intervene when the conditions of the patients warrant action.

Portea has emerged as India’s largest home healthcare provider with over 2000 clinicians handling approx. 50,000 home visits in a month and operations spread across 22 cities in India. Portea focuses on general primary health care, post-hospitalization care, chronic disease management and allied services built around care plans that are specifically developed to cater for needs of individual patients, in consultation with their primary care doctor.
