Positive Homeopathy has, over the years, driven home the message that homeopathy has a cure for all kinds of ailments, including acute cases and now wants to go on an expansion spree using the franchise route, writes Zarafshan Shiraz.
Living opposite a recognised homeopathic institute meant that Dr. T Kiran Kumar, Chairman and Managing Director, Positive Life Sciences (P) Ltd., had an exposure to homeopathy since his childhood. His frequent visits to the college and hospital premises triggered the passion to learn and practice homeopathy and eventually establish a leading healthcare company. “As I grew up, I would assist some of the senior doctors in dispensing homeopathic medicines. After my matriculation I zeroed on the choice to become a homeopathic doctor,” Dr. Kumar reminisces. Positive Homeopathy, which is the brand of the company set up by Dr Kumar, works with the prime objective of making homeopathy the first choice of treatment for any health concern.
“The outcome of a lot of research and development over the years has led to many innovations such as those for acute and emergency care and homeopathic treatment for children,” he says. Earlier, the concept was that homeopathy worked only on a long-term basis and had nothing to offer for emergency treatment. “Positive Homeopathy introduced ‘acute prescription’ and we have proved that even emergency cases can be cured with this branch of medicine,” Dr. Kumar states. “Also, since children are highly vulnerable to certain health hazards, Positive Homeopathy has selected children specific diseases under the program ‘HomeoKids’ to boost the immunity of children and thus treat them with ease,” he adds.
The duration of any treatment differs from patient to patient. Hence, the fee structure is designed as per an individual’s need and timeline. “This can range from Rs 500 to Rs 1,750 per month,” shares Dr. Kumar. He added, “A doctor’s immediate availability is very important in medical care. My patients can contact me through email or telephone any time and I pride myself in giving 100% attention to the task at hand.”
BECOMING BIGGER
Talking about scaling up, Dr. Kumar says, “Our objective is to have a pan-India presence and then go international too. In the next five years we intend to see Positive Homeopathy with more than 250 clinics across India.” Along with physical presence, there are plans to include Positive Homeopathy’s services to the corporate sector through the franchise model. “We wish to become one of the largest successful franchise systems in the Indian health industry by initiating a rural franchise model also,” Dr.Kumar states.
